78% Construction Of Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge Completed

 

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday shared a comprehensive progress report on the Brahmaputra Bridge Project, an essential endeavour to enhance regional connectivity and transportation. 

The report indicates that approximately 78 per cent of the bridge construction, linking the south and north banks of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, is now complete. 

Key financial statistics for the Brahmaputra Bridge Project are as follows: 

• Overall Project Cost: The total cost of the project is estimated at ₹2608.68 crore. 

• Total Fund Received: A sum of ₹2104.00 crore has been received to support the project's objectives. 

• Total Project Expenditure: The project has exhibited prudent financial management, with expenditures amounting to ₹2061.10 Crore, which constitutes approximately 79.01 per cent of the project cost. 

• Total Amount Claimed: The project has successfully claimed ₹1522.62 crore in funds. 

• Amount already reimbursed till July 2023: ₹1501.73 Crore of the claimed amount has already been reimbursed. 

• Under Process at NDB (Claim of August 2023): An additional ₹20.89 Crore is currently under process for reimbursement. 

• Amount to be claimed for Expenditure incurred in September and October 2023: The financial planning for the project includes a provision to claim ₹30.77 Crore for expenses incurred in September and October 2023.
