GUWAHATI: The thrilling 6th Kamrup (Metro) District Taekwondo Championship, presented by the Kamrup (Metro) District Taekwondo Association and organised under the banner of the All Assam Taekwondo Association, began in Guwahati on Friday.
The competition, which will be held till May 21, 2023, mesmerised the crowd as exceptionally skilled athletes showcased their skills.
Held at the DTRP Indoor Stadium in RG Baruah Sports Complex, Nehru Stadium, the championship brought together taekwondo enthusiasts from various schools and clubs from across the district, creating an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie.
The event featured two captivating categories, Kyorugi and Poomsae, which left spectators in awe of the remarkable performances displayed by the taekwondo practitioners.
In the Kyorugi category, the participants demonstrated their electrifying combat skills.
Engaging in fierce, full-contact sparring matches, these athletes showcased their agility, speed, and strategic thinking to outmaneuver and outsmart their opponents.
The audience was treated to an exhilarating showcase of lightning-fast kicks, precise punches, and defensive manoeuvres, resulting in an atmosphere charged with excitement and anticipation.
On the other hand, the Poomsae category focused on the artistry and precision of taekwondo forms.
Participants gracefully performed a series of choreographed movements, highlighting their poise, balance, and control.
This division showcased the athletes' mastery of technique and ability to express taekwondo's true essence through controlled and fluid motions.
The participants captivated the audience with synchronised movements, meticulous attention to detail, and sheer elegance.
