GUWAHATI: In a brutal incident, a five-year-old girl from Dariyabasti in Hojai was allegedly raped and murdered on February 27.
According to reports, victim had gone missing on the afternoon of February 26 and when the girl did not return home, her family members started searching for her.
Later her blood-stained body was found in a jungle area at Dariyabasti.

Meanwhile police arrested 25-year-old Bikram Harijan alias Chandan on the basis of circumstantial evidence and statements of eyewitnesses.
