GUWAHATI: A stash of ₹93,83,000 was found by the West Bengal Police in the spare tyre of an Assam-bound SUV at Telipara in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district on Monday, December 5.
According to a tweet by the Jalpaiguri Police, on being tipped off by a source, the Binnaguri Out Post and the Banarhat Police Station and traffic unit, detained one black SUV coming from Bihar and heading towards Assam at the Telipara curb. During a search, over ₹93 lakh was recovered which was hidden inside the stepney of the vehicle.

The passengers could not produce valid documents and therefore, five persons were arrested and the police seized the vehicle and the cash.
An investigation is ongoing.
