4th Edition of RONGALI to begin from 19th Jan

The 4th edition of Rongali is set to begin from 19th to 21st January, 2018 at Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati. The event will bring myriad of colors of Assam and focus contributions of legendary figures of Assam like Mahapurush Shankardev, Sukaphaa, Chilarai, Lachit Borphukan, Bhupen Hazarika, Bishnu Rabha etc. 

A Bor Axom will showcase the lives and culture of tribes and communities of Assam. AnkiaBhaona, Mukhabhaona, a choreography competition, a national level rock band competition, colourful dance forms of the region, a large craft exhibition etc.

Around 25 stalls will display various ethnic Assamese delicacies.

Around 20 designers comprising the best of the region will showcase the spectacular designs with 30 talented models of the region. 

Other attractions of the carnival are - traditional Boat Race, Tourism Cycle Rally, and Traditional Nao-Khel Geet.

The lineup of this year includes performances by Nucleya, Zubeen, Papon, Raghu Dixit among several others. Rongali will also bring some of the most famous rock bands of India such as The Local Train, As We Keep searching and many more. 

Mr. Shyamkanu Mahanta, the Chief Organiser of Rongali informed that around 50 top national tour operators, travel writers, national media personalities will be a part of Rongali 2018.
