300 Industry Leaders From Across World To Attend Advantage Assam 2.0

GUWAHATI: Almost 300 Industry leaders from across the globe are likely to attend the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the inaugural session to be held on February 25.

State industry and commerce minister Bimal Borah talking to media on the sidelines of Bhumi Pujan at the Assam Veterinary College field at Khanapara -- venue of the summit -- to mark the start of preparation for the event, said, “There will be 16 sessions in the summit, eight sectoral and eight  thematic.” Borah said that there will be five partner countries for the summit - Bhutan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the European Union. “Almost 300 Industry leaders from around the globe are likely to attend the summit,” said the minister. 

The minister claimed that the summit will transform the development of Assam as one of the premier investment destinations, creating a Viksit Asom that will be a hub of innovation, and entrepreneurship development that ranks amongst the top 5 states of the nation.

Borah also laid the “Lai Khuta” for the success of the summit. The main objective of the summit is to attract investors to invest in Assam, stressed the minister. 

The Bhumi Pujan programme was attended by Chief Secretary of Assam Ravi Kota, MD AIDC  Manvendra Pratap Singh, Commissioner Industries Oinam Saran Kumar Singh and other officials.
