300 Government Services In Assam To Be Digitalised, Announces CM

GUWAHATI: During the 77th Independence Day celebration in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the plan to digitise and automate approximately 300 government services. The move aims to revolutionise the way citizens interact with government departments, reducing bureaucracy, and enhancing overall efficiency.

During his address, he revealed that the Transport Department has successfully implemented 65 online services. These services encompass essential tasks such as license issuance and renewal, signifying a pivotal transition towards a system that is more user-friendly and easily accessible for the citizens.

He also highlighted that through the "Kritagyata" portal, Chief Minister Sarma highlighted the successful resolution of pensioners' grievances, underlining the power of digital platforms in addressing citizen concerns.

Addressing the unemployment issue, the Chief Minister emphasised the introduction of online services in the employment exchange to provide relief to unemployed youth by streamlining the process of seeking job opportunities.

The CM during his address also said that the police department is also embracing digital innovation with the introduction of 26 e-seva systems.

This step aims to enhance coordination and communication between law enforcement agencies and the public, fostering a safer environment and closer collaboration.
