GUWAHATI: A total of 28 teams have joined the Kamrup (Metro) District Inter-School Football Tournament, which is being played at different venues in Guwahati.
The Kamrup (Metro) District Inter-School Football Tournament, which began on Friday, will end with the final matches in three categories on Sunday.
The event is being organised by the Office of the District Sports Officer in Kamrup (Metro), and two categories for boys - Under 14 and Under 17. There is only one category for girls – Under 17.
A total of 16 teams are participating in the Under 17 boys category, and only eight teams are in the Under 14 boys category. Four teams are contesting in the Under-17 girls category.
The winning teams in the Under 17 boys category will have the opportunity to participate in the Dewkon Memorial Inter-District Football Tournament.
Similarly, the winning teams in the Under 14 boys category will qualify to compete in the Pilik Choudhary Memorial Inter-District Football Tournament.
Furthermore, the winning teams in the Under 17 girls categories will get the chance to compete in the Nipendra Narayan Sinha Memorial Inter-District School Tournament.
These tournaments provide an excellent platform for young footballers in Kamrup (Metro) district to showcase their skills and compete at the inter-school level.
