22 Live Cattle Rescued During A Smuggling Attempt In Nagaon

 

GUWAHATI: The police intercepted a truck in an alleged attempt to smuggle live cattle in Nagaon on November 24.

In the operation, a team from the Nagaon Police Town Branch, led by Sub-Inspector Garima Pegu, intercepted a truck thwarting an attempt to smuggle 22 cattle. The interception took place after a thorough checking process conducted by the police team, revealing the presence of 22 cattle intended for illegal transportation. 

The rescued cattle are now under the care of the authorities, and steps will be taken to ensure their well-being. Meanwhile, the legal proceedings against those involved in the smuggling operation are underway. 

Nagaon Police took to X to put out, “A Nagaon Police Team of Town Branch led by SI Garima Pegu intercepted a Truck and after thorough checking recovered 22 Nos Cattle which was meant to be smuggled. Further Legal Action is Initiated.”
