GUWAHATI: Assam is all set to introduce 200 creches across the state.
While launching “Nari Adalat” and “Palna” at Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium on Wednesday, Ajanta Neog, Assam Minister of Women and Child Development said, "Palna will go a long way in serving the cause of women's empowerment. It will provide women with a strong shield against all kinds of exploitation and violence and give wings to their dreams."
The minister also urged all women to use these initiatives to stay safe and turn their dreams into reality.
She further added that Anganwadi cum crèche under Palna will be implemented in a phased manner in the state. These Palnas will help working women by ensuring proper care for their children.
While addressing the event, Bivash Modi, the Director of Women and Child Development stated, "For now, we will start with 50 creches across Assam. From today, we will start with the training workshops."
