GUWAHATI: Following the latest massive blowout at Tinsukia’s Baghjan Oil Field, 2 bodies were recovered from the blast site.
One of the deceased has been identified as Durlabh Gogoi who was an employee of Oil India Limited and also a former goalkeeper of Oil India football team. The other deceased has been identified as Tikeshwar Gogoi. Further details are awaited.

Natural gas has been uncontrollably leaking from the site since 27th May when the first blowout took place and a team of experts from Singapore had arrived in Assam on June 7 to bring the situation under control.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, in a press interaction on June 9, announced that both the central and state governments would work together and take necessary steps to deal with the crisis.
