At just 19, Rekhasmita Biswas is a rising star in the vibrant music scene of Guwahati. Originally from Tamulpur, she moved to the city to pursue her education but has never let her passion for singing take a backseat.

Her dedication paid off when she won the solo singing competition at the inaugural GPlus Guwahati Theatre Festival 2024, held on September 27 at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at Arya Vidyapeeth College in Arya Nagar, Rekhasmita has been singing since she was just seven years old. After completing her Visharad, she has taken it upon herself to explore a variety of genres, including Classical, Bollywood, and ghazal.
Rekhasmita’s journey in music has been marked by numerous accolades. She has participated in several singing competitions, recently winning at the District level during the Sanskritik Mahasangram. These experiences have honed her skills and solidified her love for performance.
Reflecting on her win at the Guwahati Theatre Festival, Rekhasmita shared, "It felt good. The competition was unique. I have participated in several competitions in Guwahati, and this was by far one of the best."
Her remarkable performance not only earned her the title but also a cash prize of ₹10,000, along with a trophy and a certificate.
