GUWAHATI: The Assam government has approved a provision for 180 days of Child Adoption Leave for female state government employees who adopt children below the age of one year. This decision was made during the state cabinet meeting on July 10.

The new policy aligns with Rule 43-B of the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972, ensuring that adopted children receive proper care and nourishment during their crucial early months.
This is expected to benefit female employees of the Assam government, enabling them to provide the necessary attention and support to their adopted children.
