17-member Parliamentary Delegation From Sri Lanka To Visit Guwahati

 

 

GUWAHATI: A 17-member parliamentary delegation from Sri Lanka, which is on a five-day visit to India, will be in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Sources in the Assam Secretariat told GPlus that the Sri Lankan Parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is visiting India to foster stronger bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Sri Lankan delegation reached India on December 16, the officials said, adding that they are scheduled to be in Guwahati on Tuesday and Wednesday.

During their stay in Guwahati, the delegation will engage in a series of meaningful interactions, the officials said.

One of the highlights of their visit includes a scheduled meeting with the members of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

The delegation, led by Speaker Abeywardena, will participate in an interactive session with the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly and various members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

This exchange is anticipated to strengthen parliamentary relations and promote mutual understanding between the two nations.

The parliamentary team will also explore the Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon.
