GUWAHATI: A substantial haul of gold was seized at the Guwahati Railway Station by the Government Railway Police (GRP) on December 29.
The gold amounting to almost 1.5 kilogram was confiscated by the GRP in the incoming Rajdhani Express at 6:30 AM in the morning. According to official reports, the consignment was coming in from Burma through Dimapur today, where it was intercepted at the station by GRP.
Talking to GPlus, a senior official of GRP said, “We caught the consignment coming in today and have apprehended one individual in context to the incident. Further investigations are underway.”
Legal proceedings have been initiated as we await details.
