The bus, which was reportedly en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu, had Uttar Pradesh registration (UP  FT 7623). The accident occurred at Aaina Pahara in the Tanahun district.

DSP Deepkumar Raya confirmed the incident, and a rescue team of 45 police personnel, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Madhav Paudel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School, is currently at the site conducting rescue operations.

The Indian passengers had been staying at Majheri Resort in Pokhara and departed for Kathmandu on Friday morning. The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner stated that efforts are underway to determine if any of the state's residents were on board, according to media reports.

Nepal's challenging terrain and extensive river systems contribute to the country's vulnerability to such disasters. Just last month, two buses carrying about 65 passengers fell into the Trishuli River following a landslide, with over 50 people, including seven Indians, presumed dead.
