12 ACS and APS officials have been arrested from various offices and branches across the state. The officers have been arrested for taking jobs by illegal means. The answer sheets of the candidates have been forwarded for forensic testing. The charges have been raised against 25 officials.
The arrested officials are:

2.Dipak Khanikar - ACS, Sivsagar
3.Debajit Bora - ACS, Election Officer, Hamren
4.Anirudh Roy - ACS, Circle Officer, Lakhimpur
5.Himangshu Choudhury - ACS, Circle Officer, Agomoni
6.Sabbira Imran - ASP, Ascom 12thAPBn.
7.Jayanta Kumar Nath - APS, Ascom 7th APBN
8.Harshajyoti Bora - APS, DySP Border Ghy
9.Hemanta Saikia - APS, DySP DSB Jorhat.
10.Sudipta Goswami Bhattacharya - Emploment Officer, Karimganj
11.Amarjit Das - Emploment officer, Sonitpur
12.Raju Saha - Labour Inspector, Barpeta
Officials said 14 more officers are likely to be arrested in the next few days. The arrests came after the investigating team headed by SS Panesar, Additional SP, Dibrugarh, got forensic reports confirming the allegations against 25 officers who were put through a handwriting test in June this year. Those arrested till now include seven Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers and four of the Assam Police Service (APS).
