GUWAHATI: A woman’s body was found in a house in the Dekapara area of VIP road, Azara, in Guwahati on Tuesday, May 7.

The deceased has been identified as Sunita Munda who was the wife of the accused, Gautam Ray. The duo were residing in an abandoned property.

Meanwhile, the owner of the property was unaware of any such arrangements.
Suspicions were raised by the neighbours after noticing a foul smell from the premises and the police were informed.
Speaking to GPlus, a police official from Azara police station said, "The body was recovered from a pit inside the premises. The husband was arrested yesterday and is now in police custody. Further legal proceedings have been initiated."
Details of the investigation are underway.
