GUWAHATI: A woman sustained injuries after jumping from a six-storey building in Guwahati’s Kalapahar area on Wednesday, October 22.

The incident occurred at Puhor Guest House, where the woman had been staying to accompany her husband for medical treatment.
While the exact details of the fall are still unclear, it may have been a deliberate attempt to take her own life. Upon hearing a loud noise as she fell on the tin roof underneath, local residents and passersby immediately rushed to her aid and transported her for medical assistance.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Fatashil Ambari said ,”The woman sustained minimal injuries and is out of danger. The exact reason behind her jumping is unclear but we suspect that she was under a lot of mental stress as her husband was undergoing cancer treatment. So, that might have been a reason but nothing is confirmed as of yet. We are investigating the matter.”
The woman's identity has not yet been confirmed. Further details are awaited.
