GUWAHATI: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic which has enveloped Guwahati bringing in the re-lock since June 28, Assam State Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna tweeted for public opinion and suggestions for the imminent unlock.
In a tweet, the chief secretary wrote, “In view of the rapid rise of Covid 19 cases in Assam, especially in Guwahati, what are your concerns and expectations for Unlock 1.0?”

The tweet comes after Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the process of Unlock 1.0 in Guwahati will begin in phases.
Notably the tweet has garnered over 1.3K replies, in which a section has demanded the lifting of the lockdown while the other section has requested for the continuation of it for a few more days.
On July 18, the Chief Secretary will be addressing a press conference at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara and is likely to make some announcements with regard to the lockdown and its unlock.
