GUWAHATI: Furkating railway police, with the help of residents rescued two missing girls from Guwahati at Furkating railway station on Wednesday, March 19. The girls were found travelling with two men, identified as Rahul Biswas and Siddhartha Baruah, both from Guwahati.
The residents became suspicious of the group and decided to intervene, detaining them before alerting the police. Upon receiving the information, railway police officers took all four individuals into custody.
Speaking to GPlus, a railway police official from Furkating confirmed that the missing girls had been traced while travelling from Jorhat to Guwahati. "We received information from the local people and the two missing girls and two men were taken to our custody. They were travelling from Jorhat to Guwahati. Dispur police were informed, and arrangements were made to travel to Furkating and take custody of them," the official stated.
The authorities will investigate the circumstances surrounding the girls’ disappearance and their association with the two men.
