GUWAHATI: Two individuals who were earlier arrested in alleged connection to the firing incident in the Hatigaon area have been produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on January 2.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Hatigaon Police Station said “The two youths on a speeding vehicle escaped routine police checking in front of the Hatigaon police station after firing bullets at around 11 PM on December 31.”
“On December 31, we had put up naka checking to check for drunk driving cases. The speeding four-wheeler rammed into another car which was being inspected. When the present on-duty police officers asked them to stop the car, they fled the scene. Then, to stop the vehicle, the on-duty police fired at the front wheels of the vehicle. However, the bullet missed the target, and hit the back of the vehicle,” the police official further added.
The individuals apprehended have been identified as Kabir Ali Ahmed and Nurul Hussain who have both are now in custody. Investigations are underway as we await further details.
