Training For Guwahati Municipal Corporation Election Begins

GUWAHATI: The training programme for presiding and polling officers for the upcoming Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) election began on Wednesday, April 6, at Guwahati Commerce College.

A total of 1,000 presiding officers and 4,000 polling officers have been rendered training by the Master Trainer in this training programme. 

This was informed through a Government notification issued on Wednesday.

District Election Officer of Kamrup (M), Pallav Gopal Jha inaugurated the training programme and urged all concerned to cooperate for the smooth conduct of the GMC elections.

It may be mentioned that 4 days of the training programme for presiding and polling officers have been arranged on April 6, 7, 10 and 13. 

In the GMC election 2022, there are a total of 789 polling stations for 60 wards, out of which 780 are main polling stations and 9 are auxiliary polling stations.
