Authorities have implemented a temporary ban on commercial and heavy vehicle movement within city limits, as only vehicles transporting puja materials and devotees will be permitted along the stretch of M.G. Road between Machkhowa and the Chief Justice Bungalow Point.
Meanwhile, slow-moving vehicles like hand carts and rickshaws will also be restricted from this route, with the exception of those carrying Puja supplies.
City buses travelling from Khanapara to Bharalumukh will be redirected to G.S. Road and A.T. Road, bypassing Pan Bazar to ease traffic flow.
In terms of diversions, all vehicles approaching Panbazar from Bharalumukh will be rerouted at Machkhowa onto HB Road or A.T. Road via the elevated corridor, and vehicles moving towards Chandmari or Latasil from HB Road will be directed to take a left at NB Hall and proceed via FC Road.
Vehicles from Chandmari heading towards Panbazar will also be diverted at NB Hall, proceeding along H.B. Road towards Bharalumukh.
Additionally, light vehicles from Uzanbazar travelling to Bharalumukh will be diverted at Planetarium Point and rerouted through Lamb Road and F.C. Road.
For parking, vehicles carrying devotees from Bharalumukh can park at designated spots such as Lakhi Goli, Chamber Road, and MS Road, while all vehicles arriving at Sonaram HS School Ghat are required to park inside the school field.
Key roads including A.T. Road from Bharalumukh to Panbazar, as well as MLN Road, ARB Road, SS Road, SRCB Road, and several other streets will be marked as “No Parking” zones until the completion of rituals on November 8.
The Puja committees have also been advised to ensure parking remains at a safe distance from Puja sites and to clearly mark designated areas with signage to prevent disorganised parking.
