State Budget To Be Presented On March 10, To Benefit Poor & Middle Class: Assam CM Sarma

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government will  present the budget for the new financial year on March 10 in the ongoing legislative assembly. This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, March 3.

“Respected citizens,” the chief minister shared a video of the same on X, “On the 10th of this month, we will present the budget for this year in the ongoing assembly.”

Sarma further stated in the video that the new budget will introduce several welfare schemes aimed at benefiting the poor and middle-class sections of the state, with particular focus being placed on initiatives that will benefit the youth and students.

Additionally, he mentioned that ₹10,000 will be distributed to mothers in Behali on April 1 as part of efforts to kickstart state-level assistance for self-help groups and promote their financial independence.

The chief minister also revealed that several new infrastructure projects will be announced in this year’s budget.

Sarma finally invited public participation in the budget-making process, encouraging citizens to share suggestions and innovative ideas. He specifically urged for ‘scientific solutions’ to address Assam’s most pressing issues.
