GUWAHATI: A tragic incident unfolded on the outskirts of Guwahati city as two women lost their lives in a devastating collision with a high-speed train as per official reports on Tuesday.
The victims have been identified as Jabada Khatun and Hamida Khatun, as per official reports.
Both women suffered severe injuries upon impact, initially surviving the accident.
However, their fight for survival ended tragically as they succumbed to their injuries upon arrival at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for medical care.
Additionally, information reveals that the unfortunate incident transpired at the railway crossing situated in the Hatisila area.
The women have been identified as employees of the nearby SRB brick factory, and were struck by the train while in the vicinity.
Talking to G Plus an official from Panikhaiti Police Station stated, “The case is being pursued by Government Railway Police (GRP). Further investigations are undergoing.”
