Revenue Circle Officer Suspended Over Double Employment In Assam

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has suspended Bajali Revenue Circle Officer Masum Yusuf Ahmed over allegations of misconduct and violation of service rules.

The suspension order was issued by the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell on Wednesday, February 26.

Following an investigation, Ahmed was found to be engaged in private employment while serving as a full-time government officer, violating the Assam Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965. The inquiry also revealed that his actions breached service regulations, prompting disciplinary measures against him.

As a result, the Governor of Assam approved his suspension to maintain the integrity of public service. The order was issued under Rule 6(1) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964. The suspension will remain in effect until the completion of a departmental proceeding.

According to official instructions, Ahmed’s designated headquarters during the suspension period will be in Guwahati. Further actions will be determined for the individual based on the outcome of the ongoing disciplinary process.
