The news of Parchure's death comes a year after he revealed his battle with cancer. In a 2023 interview, Parchure shared that doctors had discovered a 5 cm tumour in his liver. He described the initial symptoms he experienced while on vacation in Australia and New Zealand, explaining how nausea and a loss of appetite led to his diagnosis.

Atul also revealed that a misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment initially worsened his condition. He began to suffer further complications involving his pancreas and faced difficulty walking and speaking. Eventually, after changing doctors and receiving proper chemotherapy, his health improved.

Despite his health struggles, Atul continued working in the Marathi entertainment industry. According to actor Jaywant Wadkar, Parchure was preparing for a role in the Marathi play Suryachi Pillay and had been rehearsing until he was hospitalised five days ago.

Parchure was a beloved figure in both Marathi and Bollywood film circles. He gained recognition for his roles in films like Billu (with Shah Rukh Khan), Partner (with Salman Khan), and All The Best (with Ajay Devgn). His death marks a significant loss for the Marathi and Hindi film industries.

Atul’s family has yet to issue an official statement about the actor’s passing.
