GUWAHATI: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, presented the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awards for the year 2024, at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 22.

The ceremony, taking place in the historic Darbar Hall, celebrated some of India's most distinguished citizens for their outstanding contributions in various fields. A total of 3 Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan, and 55 Padma Shri awards were presented during the ceremony.
The Padma Vibhushan was presented to M Venkaiah Naidu, Bindeshwar Pathak (posthumous), and Padma Subrahmanyam. The Padma Bhushan recipients were Mithun Chakraborty, Sitaram Jindal, Young Liu, Ram Naik, Tejas Madhusudan Patel, Dattatray Ambadas Mayaloo, Chandreshwar Prasad Thakur, and Usha Uthup.
The Padma Awards are among India's highest civilian honours, recognising exceptional achievements in various fields, including arts, science, public affairs, social work, sports, business, and more.
