Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival Set To Enrich Guwahati's Cultural Scene

GUWAHATI: Literary and cultural enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival (PLF), which is poised to make a significant impact on Guwahati's cultural landscape from September 29 to October 1.

In an official press release, the Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF) announced its plans to organise a national-level literature festival with the aim of establishing India as a prominent hub for literature and culture. The festival will be hosted at two distinguished locations, the District Library and the Axom Sahitya Sabha premises in Guwahati.

The festival's grand vision was unveiled during its inaugural press conference held at the Dispur Press Club in Guwahati. PLF will serve as a platform for writers and poets from across the nation to come together and share their literary creations.

One of the most significant revelations during the event was the introduction of the prestigious "Pragjyotishpur Literature Award." This esteemed award aims to recognise both seasoned literary figures and emerging talents within the literary sphere.

The festival's central theme, "In Search of Roots," was unveiled by Sudeshna Bhattacharya, Head of the Sanskrit Department at Guwahati University and Secretary of SERF. PLF aspires to become a platform for cultural reconnection and a celebration of literary excellence.

Literary enthusiasts from all corners of India and beyond can anticipate a vibrant celebration of language, culture, and tradition at the heart of Guwahati.
