GUWAHATI: Police have busted a fake medical clinic operating in North Guwahati with the arrest of six persons on Tuesday, June 7. They include a doctor and five others working as nurses and health workers.
Police said the fake clinic was operating under the name Root Cure by falsely claiming association with a Guwhati-based medical laboratory and several prominent city doctors.
The arrests follow an FIR being lodged against the clinic and its operators at the Gauripur Police Station by the family of a patient who suffered serious health complications after being treated at the clinic, police said.
Police identified one of the arrested persons as Anil Kumar Bhagawati, who was allegedly posing as a registered medical doctor.
All accused are set to be produced in court today, June 7. Investigations in the case remain ongoing and further details are awaited.
