GUWAHATI: Phase 3 trials of the probable COVID-19 vaccine may soon start at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
"There are three clinical trials going on, one is the Covaxin, the other from AstraZeneca, and the third is from the Serum Insitute," said Dr. Lakshmanan. S, National Health Mission (NHM) Assam director.
"Formally the clinical trials should begin in GMCH," added the Health Official.

As per insiders, there are also talks of Russia's Sputnik V trials that might undergo in the coming days.
The vaccine that is expected to be tested in Guwahati is COVAXINTM, India's indigenous COVID-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) - National Institute of Virology (NIV).
