Parul University recently established its MICRO-NANO Research & Development Centre, a facility focused on nanotechnology and advanced materials.

The research centre is equipped with advanced scientific instruments, including a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-ray Diffractometer (XRD), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), RF/DC Magnetron system for thin film coating, a Pin-on-Disc Tribometer, an LCR meter, and a CNC Micromachining setup. The purpose of the new facility is to facilitate research across various industries such as healthcare, aerospace, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing, with a focus on developing sustainable materials.

The centre also seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry by fostering collaborations that contribute to scientific research and technological development. It is expected to provide opportunities for students and researchers to engage in hands-on learning and skill development while working on practical applications of nanotechnology.

Dr. Anand Y. Joshi, Chairperson and Principal Investigator of the MICRO-NANO R&D Centre, highlighted the facility's role in supporting research that addresses industry challenges. Additionally, Dr. Geetika Patel, Vice President (Quality, Research & Health Sciences) at Parul University, described the establishment of the centre as a step towards strengthening Gujarat’s research infrastructure and fostering innovation.

The centre was inaugurated by Smt. Sunaina Tomar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary for Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Gujarat, and Chairperson of i-Hub. This initiative has been developed with support from the Industries Commissionerate under the Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020.
