Over ₹8 Crore Worth Of Drugs Seized In Assam

GUWAHATI: In a series of anti-narcotics operations, Assam Police seized a large haul of drugs valued at over ₹8 crore across multiple districts, on October 7.

In the first operation at Biswanath, police intercepted a vehicle at a Naka Point on NH15 based on credible intelligence. Upon searching the vehicle, they seized 314 kg of ganja worth ₹1.57 crore. The vehicle and the illicit cargo were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Subsequently, in Cachar, two special operations were conducted by the district police in Silchar and Ramnagar. These efforts led to the recovery of 572 grams of heroin and 10,000 YABA tablets, valued at approximately ₹7 crore. One person was apprehended in connection with the seizures, and further investigation is underway to dismantle the drug network.
