Over 200 Palestinians Killed In Israeli Airstrikes Across Gaza Strip

GUWAHATI: Over 200 Palestinians, including many women and children, were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip early on Tuesday, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. The airstrikes reportedly targeted several locations, including northern Gaza, Gaza City, and areas in the central and southern parts of the strip, such as Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah.

The Israeli military confirmed the attacks, stating that they had struck multiple targets and would continue operations as necessary. These strikes marked a departure from Israel's typical drone operations, which primarily focus on suspected militants, suggesting a broader scale of action.

This violence follows weeks of unsuccessful attempts to extend a ceasefire that had been in place since January 19. The ceasefire had temporarily halted fighting, but the recent airstrikes signal a return to heightened violence. Gaza’s already devastated infrastructure has endured even more destruction due to the ongoing conflict, which began in October 2023.

Palestinian health authorities and local witnesses report widespread devastation across Gaza, with many residents seeking shelter after previous bombings.
