One-Day Orientation On Classroom Observation Tool (COT) Held In Guwahati

 

A one-day orientation on the Classroom Observation Tool (COT) was conducted at the Inspector of Schools, Kamrup (Metro) Conference Hall in Panbazar Guwahati, on Tuesday, May 14. 

Organised by Samagra Shiksha, Kamrup Metro, the orientation targeted the Guwahati Education Block, recognised as the NIPUN BLOCK for Kamrup Metro District.

The training aimed to equip coordinators from 45 Cluster Resource Centres under the Guwahati Education Block with the necessary skills to effectively utilize the Classroom Observation Tool. This initiative stresses the broader objectives of the NIPUN AXOM Mission, which strives to achieve its goals by the end of 2026-27, under the guidance and collaboration of Samagra Shiksha, Assam.

Led by Dipika Choudhury, IS/DEEO cum DMC, Kamrup Metro, and coordinated by Tapashi Sharma, DPO TT&P, the orientation focused on various aspects of classroom observation and assessment methods. Sneha Verma, FLN Consultant, Hirakjyoti Nath, Data Analyst, and other officials from Samagra Shiksha, Kamrup Metro, played pivotal roles in facilitating the training.

Indranath Chatterjee, State Lead from the Central Square Foundation (CSF) Assam, emphasised the significance of the classroom observation process in fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Alokesh Dutta, Principal of DIET, and Daya Krishna Gogoi, DI of Guwahati block, shared insights at the onset of the orientation, enriching the learning experience for participants.

The orientation received support from Jayashree Paul, Project Manager at the Central Square Foundation, an organisation dedicated to ensuring quality school education for all children in India.
