Observance of Souk Divas in State

Souk Divas shall be observed in the State on 16th August to mourn the tragic death of the innocent persons killed in bomb blast while attending the Independence Day Celebration at Dhemaji defying the ban of the militant organisations and also other victims of militant violence.   All Deputy Commissioners and SDO(c) will observe the Sok Divas in their respective head quarters with all officers and staff at 11.00 AM by taking one minute silence in memory of the children and other persons who lost their lives and take a pledge against all acts of terrorism and militant violence. The National Flag shall be flown at Half Mast in all government offices, educational institutions and in all other places where the National Flag is normally flown. Public Meetings will also convene in all Head Quarters including Dhemaji, involving all leading citizens, members of the civil society and teachers and students of educational institutions. Programmes like Sarba Dharma Prathana, offering of floral tributes for the eternal peace of the departed souls and also to take a Pledge to work unitedly for peace and harmony in the State and raise their voices against all acts of militant and extremist violence. All Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, Member of Parliament, MLAs will attend the public meetings if available in the Districts.
