GUWAHATI: A nurse was found lying unconscious by the roadside in Batadrawa, Nagaon district, under mysterious circumstances on Monday, December 22. According to a delayed report, the victim, identified as Akhima Khatun, is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Nagaon Metro Hospital.

Akhima, who works at the same hospital, was discovered near Bhomoraguri. Police officers who responded to the scene rushed her to the hospital, where she is undergoing treatment for multiple injuries and fractures.
Speaking to GPlus, Nagaon Superintendent of Police Swapnaneel Deka said that Akhima had visited a food joint before losing consciousness.
“She came out of work and then went to have chow mein at the food joint. She was later found unconscious on a road near her home and taken to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing, and a male suspect has also been named,” Deka added.
While the police have recorded Akhima’s statement, no arrests have been made yet while investigation is underway.
