The NEET (UG) 2024 exam was conducted successfully across 4750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad, on May 5, 2024. NTA assures that their security protocols and Standard Operating Procedures were strictly followed, and there is no basis for the rumors of paper leaks. Every question paper was duly accounted for, and examination halls were under CCTV surveillance, with no unauthorised access once the examination commenced.

An incident occurred at a center in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, where some students took away question papers forcibly before the conclusion of the exam. However, this isolated incident is being misrepresented on social media as a paper leak, which is unfounded. Other photographs of question papers circulating on social media are unrelated to the actual examination question paper administered during NEET (UG) 2024.

NTA emphasises that strict action has been taken against cases of malpractice and impersonation during the examination. The agency also conducts post-exam data analysis to detect cases of Unfair Means (UFM) and takes necessary action as per existing rules, including cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations.

NEET UG 2024 witnessed a record-high registration of over 24 lakh students, the highest ever recorded. This increase was facilitated by the selection of several smaller cities as examination centers, including in the Northeast, Puducherry, Jammu and Kashmir, and other states.
