GUWAHATI: Amid the ongoing battle against COVID-19 in India, Guwahati has reported no cases so far in the latest surge. While India records 260 new coronavirus infections, Guwahati stands as an exception with zero reported cases.
Speaking to GPlus, a senior official from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) shared, "We have not received any COVID-19 cases. If we do encounter cases, we have a plan in place to handle them."
The nationwide situation sees India's active caseload at 1,828, with the death toll reaching 5,33,317. The Centre has issued an advisory to states, urging them to closely monitor and report any influenza-like illness. This advisory comes amidst the backdrop of rising COVID cases in the country, including the detection of the JN.1 subvariant.
