Nirmala Sitharaman To Present Union Budget 2024 On July 23

GUWAHATI: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2024 for the financial year 2024-25 on July 23, as announced by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju. The Budget session will commence on July 22, according to a post by Rijiju on X (formerly Twitter) on July 6.

"Hon’ble President of India, on the recommendation of the Government of India, has approved the proposal for summoning both Houses of Parliament for the Budget Session, 2024 from July 22, 2024, to August 12, 2024 (subject to exigencies of Parliamentary Business). The Union Budget 2024-25 will be presented in Lok Sabha on July 23, 2024," read his post.

Earlier this year, on February 1, Sitharaman tabled the Interim Budget for FY24 ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Sitharaman is poised to make history as she will present the Union Budget for the seventh consecutive time, including six full budgets and one interim budget. The finance minister conducted pre-budget consultations with industry stakeholders starting June 20. Additionally, Sitharaman assumed office as the Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister of the newly established NDA government on June 12.
