Night Shelter And PET CT Scan Service Inaugurated in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated two significant projects aimed at enhancing the welfare and healthcare infrastructure in the state. 

A night shelter was unveiled for home and construction workers in Rehabari, along with the inauguration of a PET CT scan service at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute.

The newly inaugurated night shelter, constructed at a cost of ₹15 crore, marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind dedicated to home and construction workers in Assam. 

Designed to provide affordable accommodation, the facility offers lodging for up to 200 workers at ₹70 per night, addressing their immediate housing needs. The improved accommodation facilities aim to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for the workers.

CM Sarma also inaugurated a PET CT scan service at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute. With an investment of ₹13.15 crore, this project is poised to revolutionise cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment evaluation for oncology patients. The advanced PET CT scan technology is expected to play a crucial role in addressing the needs of cancer patients in the region.
