The total length of these road assets is 1,472 km, and they generated an estimated cumulative annual revenue of ₹1,863 crore in 2023-24.
NHAI invited feedback from stakeholders on the identified assets and suggested additional entries for consideration. "These assets are preferably to be monetised through the toll-operate-transfer (TOT) mode unless revised later for another monetisation method," the order stated.
According to the document, Maharashtra has the highest number of projects with five road assets, followed by Jharkhand with four. Uttar Pradesh has three projects, while West Bengal, Bihar, and Telangana each have two. One project each has been identified in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, and Odisha.
In the ongoing financial year 2024-25, NHAI had earmarked 33 highway stretches spanning 2,741 km for monetisation. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has set a target to raise ₹39,000 crore through various asset monetisation models, including TOT, Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT), and project-based financing.
