Alliance leader BJP won three seats while UPPL and AGP won one each.

The BJP clinched a historic victory when it won the Samaguri seat, which has been a Congress citadel for decades. The seat fell vacant after Congress’s Rakibul Hussain contested in the last Lok Sabha election and won from Dhubri. His son Tanzil Hussain was the party’s candidate for the seat in the bye-election. He lost to Diplu Ranjan Sarma by a margin of 24,501 votes.

Rakibul Hussain conceded defeat even before the results were officially declared saying “Tanzil Hussain has lost and it is a victory for Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

Apart from Samaguri, the BJP won in Dholai and Behali while UPPL won the Sidli seat and the AGP Bongaigaon seat.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described the NDA’s win as people's support to "good governance and development". "We bow in gratitude to the people of Assam. The NDA's 5/5 victory in the current by-elections is a resounding testament to Assam's unwavering support for Adarniya @narendramodi Ji’s vision of good governance and development", Sarma posted on X.

"A big shoutout to our dedicated Karyakartas who took our message of development to every booth!" he added.
