Navarati Special Recipe: Doodh Paneer

Navarati, a Hindu festival which means "Nine Nights," is celebrated to honour the Mother (Devi) Goddess Durga. It is celebrated twice a year - first at the onset of summer in March or April which is known as Chaitra Navarati and the second Navarati is celebrated in September or October, known as Sharad Navarati.

With this time, comes the occasion to enjoy festive delights. One such delight is Doodh Paneer. 
Ingredients: 

1.    Paneer - 150 gm

2.    Sugar - 1 tsp

3.    Ginger paste - 1 tsp

4.    Whole dry red chilli powder - 2 

5.    Curry leaves - 5 gm

6.    Kashmir red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

7.    Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp

8.    Milk - 200 ml

9.    Butter - 2 tbsp

Method:

1. Cut the paneer into cubes.

2. Heat kadhai, add butter, sugar, whole dry red chilli, cumin seeds and let them crack.

3. Add curry leaves, ginger paste, stir for one minute.

4. Add Kashmir red chilli powder and paneer and stir for another couple of minutes.

5. Add salt, stir for some time.

6. Add milk, let it cook for sometime in low flame to adjust the consistency of the gravy.

7. Check the seasoning and it will be ready to serve.
