Nagaon Man Arrested In Human Trafficking Scandal; Victims Tricked With Job Offers

GUWAHATI: The police recently arrested Motiur Rahman, a resident of the Juria locality, for allegedly deceiving women with false job promises and selling them overseas in Nagaon.

Rahman is accused of luring women under the pretense of providing jobs in Mumbai, only to traffic them to clients in Oman, where they faced abuse and confinement.

A victim confirmed in a video that she was being sold by Rahman and described the inhumane conditions. The woman, now trapped in Oman, shared details of her abuse and confinement.

Talking to Gplus, an official from Juria Police Station, Nagaon said, " Motiur deceived women under the pretext of providing them jobs in Mumbai. He allegedly sold these women to overseas clients in Oman. We are further investigating the matter to ascertain if any other women are involved."

The victim's family lodged a formal complaint with the Juria Police Station. The police arrested Rahman and launched a deeper investigation.
