GUWAHATI: The National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) distributed an amount of Rs 19.84 crores in loan among 694 women self-help groups (SHGs) at a mega credit camp organised at the Nalbari Natya Mandir on Tuesday, February 25.
More than 900 members from various SHGs participated in the credit camp. On the occasion, the SHG members also organised an exhibition of their products.
Branch Managers of 10 banks – AGVB, Union Bank of India, UCO Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Corporation Bank, State Bank of India, and Punjab National Bank – also took part in the credit camp, where sanction letters of bank loans were distributed to the SHG members.
Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are informal associations of people who choose to come together to find ways to improve their living conditions. There are thousands of SHG’s operating in the state of Assam.
