GUWAHATI: Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Awards will be conferred on November 30 to over 35,000 students who had passed class 12 in the state as part of the Pragnan Bharati scheme aiming to inspire and incentivise students in their educational pursuits.
According to official reports, a total of 35,770 students are set to receive the award tomorrow wherein the male students who secured 75 per cent and above and female students who secured 60 per cent and above in class 12 examinations conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will be provided scooters under Dr. Banikanta Kakati Award Scheme tomorrow. A total budget of ₹25,954.29 lakh has been determined for this award.
The ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow from 12 PM onwards at the Veterinary Grounds, Khanapara in Guwahati. The event is set to be presided over by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
