Modi Pledges Full Support To Cyclone Remal-Affected States After Taking Stock

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that the Centre will provide comprehensive support to the states affected by Cyclone Remal last week. He instructed the Ministry of Home Affairs to closely monitor the situation and regularly review the progress to ensure all necessary assistance for restoration and recovery.

Modi reviewed the impact of the cyclone at his residence on Sunday, June 2. During the high-level meeting, he was briefed on the cyclone's devastating effects on several Northeastern states, including Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura.

The discussion dwelt on the loss of human lives and the extensive damage to houses and properties due to landslides and floods triggered by the cyclone. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed to the affected regions, conducting evacuation, airlifting, and road clearance operations as per the requirements.
