Mission Indradhanush 5.0 Commences In Guwahati, Aims To Vaccinate Thousands

GUWAHATI: Kamrup Metropolitan District launched the much-awaited Mission Indradhanush 5.0 programme today. This extensive community vaccination drive aims to provide immunisation to pregnant women and children up to the age of five who have been deprived of vaccines.

The district administration has set an ambitious target of vaccinating a total of 4958 beneficiaries during the campaign. Among them, 874 are pregnant women, 2837 are children in the age group of 0-2 years, and 1247 are children in the age group of 2-5 years.

To ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the programme, a comprehensive network of 351 vaccination centres has been established across the district. The vaccine administration will be facilitated through the U-WIN app, streamlining the process and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

The focus of Mission Indradhanush 5.0 in Guwahati is to reach out to children who have been left out of routine immunisation and pregnant women who are yet to receive essential vaccines, including the rubella vaccine.

The vaccination drive will be carried out in three phases to maximise coverage and effectiveness. The first phase, scheduled from August 7 to August 12, will mark the initial push towards achieving the set targets. The second phase will follow from September 11 to September 16, followed by the last phase from October 9 to October 14.
